“Reverend Insanity, Fang Yuan, and Rewriting Yourself”
By Samuel
So I’ve been reading this light novel called Reverend Insanity 📖
And let me just say — Fang Yuan is a GOAT-level character 🐐.
Now, don’t get me wrong:
I don’t agree with his evil, selfish, ruthless choices 💀.
Man is basically chaotic neutral on steroids ⚡️.
But some of his insights?
They hit.
Like this one 👇
“The past doesn’t exist.
It lives only in your mind — in your memories.
And memories?
They’re not as accurate as you think. They’re colored by your emotions, your perspective, and your brain filling in blanks.
Someone else who lived the same thing will remember it differently.Memories aren’t accurate. They can’t be trusted.
Yet we build our entire sense of self from them.
We write a story about our life, repeat it to ourselves, and that story becomes who we are.But since the past doesn’t exist anymore — and your memories might not even be true — you can rewrite them.
Rewrite the story.
Rewrite your past.
And in doing so… rewrite yourself.”
— Fang Yuan (Reverend Insanity)♟️ Fang Yuan on Suffering
“You might think — ‘I suffered, why shouldn’t they?’
Another might think — ‘I suffered, and I hope no one else has to.’But the truth is simple: everyone is a main character yet still a side character. Everyone suffers.
There is no right or wrong in suffering.
⚖️ Suffering is neither just nor unjust. It simply is.To waste breath demanding the world conform to your pain is to blind yourself to the chessboard ♟️.
Wisdom lies not in cursing the rules…
But in playing the game.”*
— Fang Yuan (Reverend Insanity)
🐐 Another reason he’s a GOAT-tier character.That’s cold ❄️
That’s deep 🌊
And honestly? That’s freeing 🕊️
Because if memories are just stories we tell ourselves…
Then maybe change isn’t about the past at all.
It’s about rewriting the story you’re telling right now ✍️✨
