It’s just me pausing the noise long enough to say this properly:

Just choose a great reference point in the field you’re aiming for,

As for me, I never truly had one.

Why? 🤔

Nothing dramatic.
I just don’t have it in me to look up to people whose flaws are far too apparent.

Most individuals in the fields I aspire toward tend to operate from ego. 🪞
They usually think they are the best at what they do —

When in reality, that’s rarely the case.
There is always someone better. 🎯
And if they cannot even recognise that, then there is nothing meaningful to learn from them. ⚖️

Beyond that, I would rather not place anyone aside from my creator and perhaps my parents, on that kind of pedestal. 🕊️
It keeps me grounded.
It keeps my perspective intact. 🌱

If it were to be anyone else, it often becomes a matter of hierarchy.
It’s either they think they are better than me, greater than me or smarter than me. 🧠

When in reality at least 50% of the time, that simply isn’t the case.

And that distinction matters. ⚖️

And sure — even if I tried to ignore that out of respect for the possibility they are more experienced than me, with all due respect, there often wasn’t much of a difference in raw capability.

Someone can have five years in a field,
and someone younger can be taught how things work —
and within months, they’re already operating at comparable output.

I believe the word for that is genius.
Not claiming that for myself — just acknowledging the phenomenon.

Still, there are insights and edges only time can teach.

A junior can eventually match the output of a professional.
But a senior can do that and also see the consequences attached to it —
the second-order effects, the risks, the downstream impact a newer mind might not yet perceive.

So while capability gaps can close quickly,
perspective gaps often take time.

And to find a mentor with that level of seasoned perspective,
even if their ego didn’t disqualify them — they aren’t exactly common.

Which brings me back to the same point:
respect for experience, yes —
but i don’t confuse years with automatic superiority. ⚖️

So I guess if I had to choose someone, I might say King Solomon, because of how knowledgeable he was. 👑📜
Although that could easily be misinterpreted.

After all, he had a thousand companions divided into 700 concubines and 300 wives,

So let’s avoid unnecessary conclusions. ⚖️

And just to be clear: Me not choosing him isn’t because I think him having that many companions was wrong.

If anything, it was largely rooted in dynastic alliances, political stability, and societal structure.

That was simply how things were done by ancient people in ancient times. 📜⚖️

Our modern perception of polygamy has shifted drastically,

but in earlier civilizations, society functioned with far fewer restrictions.

In reality, most of those unions were more strategic rather than romantic,

and at most, only a few wives were likely his true close companions.

Men who had multiple wives were typically those who carried greater responsibility,

possessed resources, and had the capacity to provide.
